Chapter 4 The Central Limit Theorem
The Central Limit Theorem (henceforth, CLT) is one of the most important conceptual foundations of inferential statistics. It is the sole reason why we can make educated guesses regarding the parameters of a population using information on the statistics of a sample. The CLT will be going on in the background of every subsequent chapter of this course companion, and performing a statistical analysis without fully understanding the CLT is simply going through the motions. This chapter is devoted to delivering a conceptual understanding of the CLT.
